  • Warehouse management system in Granditude Commerce

WMS: stock you can trust today, and a figure you can plan against

Granditude WMS runs the warehouse floor: goods arriving, orders going out, stock moving between locations, and counts keeping the numbers honest. Every action updates stock immediately and publishes it, so the shop stops overselling within moments rather than overnight.

If the stock figure is wrong, everything built on it is wrong

Overselling, stockouts and wrong reorders usually start in the warehouse: a delivery booked in late, a pick from the wrong shelf, a count that never made it into the system.

Granditude WMS makes the warehouse the source of truth for stock. Every receipt, pick, move and count updates the figure at once, and alongside the count on the shelf it keeps a projected figure of what stock will be once open orders ship and inbound goods land.

    Sound familiar?

    • The webshop sells items that are not on the shelf
    • Deliveries received on paper and typed in later
    • Stock counts once a year, and wrong the day after

    What Granditude WMS does

    Planned receiving
Deliveries expected from purchasing appear as planned receipts. Staff confirm what arrived against what was ordered and note any difference.
    Unplanned receiving
Returns and walk-in deliveries are booked in without paperwork first.
    Picking and packing
Pick orders are created from real orders as they arrive. Pick from one or several locations, pack into parcels with weight, and ship.
    Carriers and labels
Choose the carrier per shipment and book it through a shipping integration such as nShift, or record tracking manually.
    Locations
Warehouses, locations and product placements, with stock per location and moves that keep the record correct.
    Stock counts
Cycle counts per location that correct the stock and publish the correction, with a full audit trail.
    Projected stock
What will be on hand once open orders ship and inbound purchase orders arrive, published for purchasing to plan against.
    Several warehouses and markets
Run several warehouses, each tied to a market, with one default warehouse per market.

A day on the warehouse floor

    1. Goods arrive

Planned deliveries are checked against the purchase order. Returns and walk-ins are booked in directly.

    2. Stock is placed

Products are put on their locations, and stock is published to every channel.

    3. Orders are picked and packed

Pick tasks come in from the order desk. Staff pick, pack and book the carrier.

    4. Parcels ship

The shipment is marked as shipped, tracking goes back to the order and the customer, and stock is adjusted.

Part of one platform, not another silo

WMS never talks to another application directly. It publishes what it owns to Connect once, and receives what it needs the same way. That is why the numbers stay the same in every system.

    Who uses it

    • Warehouse staff receive, pick, pack, move and count.
    • Warehouse managers set up warehouses, locations and carriers and follow the workload.
    • Buyers and the order desk rely on the stock and projected stock it publishes.

    Questions about WMS

What is a warehouse management system?

A warehouse management system (WMS) runs the physical warehouse: receiving goods, placing them on locations, picking and packing orders, and counting stock. Granditude WMS also publishes stock to every sales channel in real time.

How does the WMS stop overselling?

Every receipt, pick, move and count updates stock immediately and publishes it to the storefront and other channels, instead of syncing overnight.

    What is projected stock?

The stock you will have once open sales orders ship and inbound purchase orders arrive. Granditude Purchase Management uses it to decide when to reorder.

    Can I run several warehouses?

Yes. Each warehouse belongs to a market, with its own locations, and one warehouse can be the default for its market.

    Which carriers are supported?

Carriers can be booked through a shipping integration such as nShift, or configured locally with tracking entered manually.

    How are returns received?

Returns are booked in as unplanned receipts, with a note on the reason or return reference, and the stock is updated immediately.
